Tigris was voted No. 1 in the USA TODAY 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards for 2019 for New Amusement Attractions. Tigris is Florida's tallest launch coaster. It catapults riders 150 feet skyward at 60 miles per hour to an inverted heartline roll at the top. Meyer Associates provided conceptual design, architecture, and engineering services for the project. The initial phase included the removal of the existing Tanganyika Tidal Wave ride structure, foundations, and selective removal of the existing ride flume. Great care was taken to maintain and supplement the existing mature landscape, trees, rockwork and topography; and the western portion of the existing ride flume was re-purposed as the new exterior queue line. The project included approximately 1.9 acres of sitework, ride utilities and infrastructure, and buildings including: a new 3,400 SF Loading Station and Ride Control Building, a new Locker Building, a renovated Retail Building, and covered queue.
